Postdoctoral positions
- There is a call for FONDECYT fellowships (Chile) once a year. These 3-year fellowships are very generous in terms of funding and allow for independed and/or guided research. Candidates from all over the world can apply, provided they have a PhD awarded in the last 4-5 years (exact dates should be checked against the call). - There is a yearly call for ALMA-Conicyt funds, suitable to support 2-year postdoctoral positions. The candidate will need a sponsor in a Chilean institution. If you want to apply with me as a sponsor please contact me at least 2 months before the deadline (changable: between June and September).
- There are also job opportunities though the ESO-Chile joint comittee, which opens a call once a year and can fund 2-year postdoctoral positions in Chilean institutions. If you want to apply with me as a sponsor please contact me at least 2 months before the deadline (typically around August).
PhD & Master oportunities at IFA-UV
The Doctoral Program in Astrophysics at IFA-UV is open to those that have obtained an academic degree (Bachelors or Masters), in disciplines such as Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, or similar. Applicants that have obtained degrees from countries outside Chile must present documents certified and authorised by the appropriate authorities. The deadline is generally in October. There are also scholarship opportunities that the candidates can apply for.
